Seeing without the eyes

A poster series that illustrates the same car ride from home to work using different senses. Each of the different elements are a visual representation of the sense on a clock that will indicate what is seen, touched, smelled, heard and tasted at a given point on the trip

Colours seen on trip

Each ring is a colour seen on my trip at a given time. In order to avoid overloading the map I had taken off my glasses to review the video footage of my trip in order to define the most prominent colours seen on the trip.

This is the first time I have ever benefitted from my poor eyesight

Sounds heard on trip

Each ring is a sound heard on my trip, the waves indicate how loud and how quiet the sound got at a given time

Surfaces felt on trip

Each mark is a different item I had touched inside my car over the trip. The height and number of the marks indicates how long I was touching the object

Scents smelled on trip

Each abstract shape is a scent, each layer indicates the intensity and reach of the scent, giving it a perception of size over a length of time

Flavours tasted on trip

Each ring indicates a flavour I am tasting over the length of my trip as well as its intensity when it begins to fade away
